What Qualifications Are Needed?
  1. You need to be willing to speak German. Your grammar and spelling skills are less important than your willingness to speak and understand German. Can you imagine ordering food in a restaurant, buying a train ticket, asking for directions, or chatting with strangers in a bar in German? If so, you’re in the right place!
  2. You must be a student at an official university or college. If you are not an EU citizen, you will need the following to apply for a Schengen visa: a valid passport, 2 passport photos, international health insurance with at least €30,000 coverage, proof of enrollment, and confirmation of your semester break. For the visa, you will need to visit the German embassy in your home country twice and also prove that you have enough funds to travel to Germany and back. Many international students come to us through agencies that also assist with accommodation, travel arrangements, and the visa application process.
